Join your fellow HYPE members to help Junior Achievement inspire over 275 students (K-3rd grade) to become financially literate, work ready and entrepreneurial. JA provides all the materials and training. This will be one of the most rewarding experiences that we participate in. This is a full day event, and should finish around 2:30 pm with breaks in between for specials and recess.
It is of utmost importance that you commit to this event, as the students are eager to meet and learn from us. Please, if you must cancel, make sure you find a replacement and let us know as soon as possible.
What is Junior Achievement?
JA's mission is to inspire and prepare young people to embrace free enterprise and succeed in a global economy. JA works with volunteers to teach hands-on lessons that focus on workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy, JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential. Using our unique approach, Junior Achievement is on track to reach 100,000 students in Metro Denver, Northern Colorado and Wyoming during the 2010/11 school year.

Volunteering with JA is a fun, flexible and rewarding way to directly impact the lives of local students. JA programs are easy to teach and require a modest time investment.
The Need for JA in Colorado:
- Over 25% of high school students fail to graduate
- Over 55% of minority high school students fail to graduate
- In 2009, high school dropouts are experiencing 15% unemployment while college graduates are only experiencing 4%.
- 81% of high school dropouts state they would've made a different decision if they had seen the link between academics and a good job
