We would love to have you volunteer at the Rocky Mountain PBS Annual KIDS Fun Fest!
The Rocky Mountain PBS (RMPBS) Annual KIDS Fun Fest in Denver will be held on Saturday September 8, 2012. The time will be 10am – 2pm MT at the Denver RMPBS Station, 1089 Bannock Street.
The Annual KIDS Fun Fest is a block party full of fun activities free to all. It’s the RMPBS salute to families and children and is ideal for kids preschool age through sixth grade. PBS characters such as Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Princess Presto will be there to greet and hug their young (and old) fans. Entertainment from the stage includes performances by outstanding local talent guaranteed to get everyone moving. Healthy refreshments will be offered and kids will enjoy moving from activity to activity ---learning, exploring and having some plain old fun in the bounce house and on the climbing wall. It’s the perfect outing for families in a safe and entertaining setting. Historically, we host 8,000 to 10,000 attendees each year.
We are looking for community volunteers to donate their time and energy to help support this event in 2012. This would also be an excellent opportunity for young professionals, high school or college students, Kiwanis or Rotary organizations, church groups and older Girl Scout or Boy Scout Troops who or individuals who love kids and wish to serve their community. We have a myriad of jobs available from Greeters to Crowd Control, Character Handlers, Kitchen Detail, Sponsor Sign-In, Tricycle Village, Setup and Tear Down, and more. Shifts are typically 2-4 hours long.
If you are interested and able to volunteer for the 2012 Kids Fun Fest, please respond to us no later than June 19, 2012 with the job/time-slot you wish to reserve and your phone number and email. Review the attachment or read below to choose your assignment and time ---include this in your reply. Please encourage your family members and friends (ages 15+) to join with you and celebrate kids and fun on September 8th. If you belong to one of the above organizations and are willing to coordinate a group of volunteers to aid in this year’s Fun Fest, please let us know how many you can provide. Or, if you are volunteering as an individual, just let us know. Please let us know what works for you. Feel free to sign up in more than one time-slot or one job!
Of course, we are very excited about our Fun Fest for this year and expect 2012 to be the best ever! Please let us know if you want to join in the fun! This year’s Volunteer Coordinators are Barbara Tung, 303.750.4870, betung@comcast.net; and Claire McTiernan, 720.858,8217, cmctier0705@gmail.com. Don’t hesitate to give either of them a call if you have any questions.
We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Susan Ewing Barber
