'For our December social we'll be having a holiday party at Casselman's with a boot drive for Place Bridge Academy, live music, a chance to get your picture taken with Santa, drink specials, free food, and more!
This event will be a blast, but it's also for a good cause. We'll be accepting donations of new boots for students of Place Bridge Academy. Shoe sizes most needed range from children’s size 10 to adult size 10. Cash donations will also be accepted.
Attendees who bring a new pair of boots or make a minimum $20 contribution will receive free food provided by Fox and Hound and one complimentary beer from Heineken! The event is free to attend, but donations are appreciated.
We are also very excited to welcome two bands for the event! Fever Pitch will perform first including one of our very own MHYP members, Sara Walter. Following Sara will be a new band called Erya. Check them out on Facebook: Fever Pitch, Erya.
Place Bridge Academy serves as a school for refugee and immigrant elementary-aged students and provides support for students and their families as they transition into a mainstream classroom.
Because families often arrive in Denver straight from refugee camps, they often lack the basic needs for life in America. Support from resettlement agencies will help with food, furniture and basic clothing items, but most students have never lived in a cold climate or owned a pair of shoes other than flip-flops. The arrival of winter in Colorado often leaves many families unprepared and without necessities including proper winter shoes or boots. Place Bridge Academy, along with the support of the greater Denver community, seeks to provide support for students in need.
We'll also be inviting all of our partner YP groups to attend, so there will be a bunch of new faces and people to meet and network with.
As with all of our social events, the holiday party is free and open to all, so tell your friends to plan to join all of us at Casselman's on the 13th.
We're looking forward to this exciting event and the impact we can have for Place Bridge Academy. Go grab some boots, bring them over, and come celebrate with us!
Our social events provide an opportunity to network with Denver's finest Young Professionals in a relaxed, but professional environment. So, bring lots of business cards, dress like you do at work, and be prepared to present your business and learn about others. We expect people to leave our events with new business relationships and opportunities. We work with who we are friends with, so get ready to foster some new friendships! There is no fee, membership or age requirements for MHYP social events, everyone is welcome to come see what we are all about.
