This presentation will cover some of the most common and costly mistakes business owners make as well as how to avoid them.  Learn how to plan now, rather than wait for an emergency.  Some of the topics we will cover include: issues related to business partners and employees, issues related to intellectual property, and issues related to asset protection.

About Joel R. Keeth

Joel has been practicing law in the areas of business and estate planning in the Colorado area since 2004.  He has worked with successful business owners and families in helping them preserve and protect that which they have worked so hard to accumulate throughout their lives.  He has worked with families in the area of estate planning helping them navigate the often confusing and difficult process of planning for themselves and their loved ones in the event of disability or death all while minimizing or avoiding taxes.  He has also worked with businesses just starting operations to multimillion dollar businesses to help with complex tax planning, business sales, business acquisitions, and just about all aspects of the day to day operations of the business.

Joel is a contributing author of the books “Your Legacy:  Meaningful Estate Planning,” The Complete Guide to Estate and Wealth Strategies in Turbulent Times” and “Being in Business is a Funny Thing, Getting Out is Not!; A Business Owner’s Guide to Growing and Transitioning Your Business,”   He has taught an estate planning course in the finance program at Metropolitan State College of Denver.  He has taught continuing education courses in the areas of estate planning, tax planning and business planning for attorneys, financial advisors, insurance professionals and CPA’s.
