Our Table of 10 events provide MHYP members an opportunity to meet and converse with top-level business, community, and social leaders in Denver. These lunches will give you exclusive access to people who's time is at a premium, in a setting that promotes open conversation. Come excited, and ready to ask questions and learn from the best Denver has to offer.  This exclusive event is limited to 10 attendees and registration opens on Wednesday one week prior to the event at 10am.

About Charlita Shelton

Dr. Charlita Shelton joined University of the Rockies in October 2008. As President, Dr. Shelton is responsible for the overall quality and operations of the academic institution. 

Dr. Shelton’s experience in the diversity communications industry spans some 20 years. Most recently, as Organizational Diversity Officer for the Apollo Group in Phoenix, AZ, she formulated and administered all of the company’s diversity initiatives, training workshops and recruitment strategies. Prior to that, Dr. Shelton worked for University of Phoenix (UoP) in Phoenix, AZ, as Associate Vice President for Campus Academic Affairs and, before that, as Regional Director of Academic Affairs for UoP’s Midwest Region. Additional experience includes Kelsey Jenny College, Conservation Community Corps and the United States Marine Corps. 

Throughout her career, Dr. Shelton’s research and ideologies have been featured in several industry publications, and she has been appointed to serve on three distinguished boards: The UoP Foundation, the Arizona Community Foundation Tapestry Fund, and the Phoenix Shanti Group. She is a recipient of the 2007 Arizona Society of Human Resources Diversity Champion Award and 2010 Champions of Diversity Award from Diversity Business.Com. In addition, Dr. Shelton was awarded Profile in Diversity Journal’s “Women Worth Watching” award. Dr. Shelton earned her Ph.D. in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA, where she also received her M.S. in Human Development. She received her first M.S., in Education Administration, from National University in San Diego, CA, and her B.S. in Communications from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. Other professional affiliations include Executive Women International, the National Women’s History Museum, the Human Rights Campaign, Who’s Who Among Women, the Diversity Leadership Alliance, and the Arizona Human Rights Fund.
